ERIC CANTOR STANDS IN WAY OF FISCAL SOLUTION

The fiscal cliff negotiations are not going well.  Boehner is fighting hard. I believed he was a vote counter and was counting voters for two reasons; one to make a deal on the U.S. budget the other was to keep his job.  Like almost every political operative in Washington, he knows he can present a deal that would pass the House of Representative. That leaves the second problem; he can get the votes he needs to pass the budget deal but cannot get the votes he needs to save his job. As I previously blogged on Firetree, he kicked four Tea Partiers off their committees. I thought this might lead to a vote count that would allow him to keep his job. There is no deal. This means to me that if we, the American people, will not see a deal until Boehner is willing to chance giving up his job. Then as mentioned, the budget bill with pass. Be careful of what you wish. In the ensuing fight for his position a Tea Partier wins the position as speaker of the house, the country will suffer mightily. We knew what happened with Bush; he trashed the country.  Can you imagine what the country would be like if the people elected McCain or Romney President? Can anyone imagine if Eric Cantor, a radical right wing congressional representative, was third in line for the Presidency? I can! Its not pretty.
