BAD GOVERNMENT COMING TO NORTH CAROLINA

Gov. McCrory/ Lt. Gov. Forest ticket with a Republican Legislature is coming to North Carolina. One of the rules of Republican greediness is that once they have gained power then they will do what ever they can to keep it. For them it is an unrelenting and continuous process carried out at all levels of society. The most egregious examples were in Wisconsin and Florida but any state with a Republican majority is subject to their underhandedness. We elected both a Republican governor and a Republican Legislature, now we are going to see North Carolina unfairly turned in to a bastion of Republican power following the Wisconsin model. Legal or illegal, honest or not honest, makes no difference; they will do it.  They will operate state government like a committee where the chair can appoint new members. If they have legislative power, they use it to destroy union, which are a source Democratic support. Tax the middle class and give breaks to the big business but especially to energy companies. Open up all land to gas fracking. Increase the cost of power to the people. They will initiate voter suppression measures. We have seen these things happen in state after state.  They redistrict to construct districts only Republicans win in. In North Carolina, even before they had control of the governor’s mansion, the Republican legislature stripped the Democratic Lt. Governor of funds and employees so he would be ineffective, and then accuse him of being ineffective. Now with a new Lt. Governor Forest (R), they will be on a roll; all of a sudden the Lt. Gov. office will be refunded. You can shame them, call them names, or do what you will but it will make no difference they won even if it was a narrow margin, which in their mind is enough to act as dictators. Once you voted for them, you can never get your vote back.

I am reminded of a conservative couch saying to his little league team, “To win is not the important thing; it is everything.” “It is not a matter of how you play the game; it is a matter of winning.” To a Republican, to play fair or not to pay fair makes not difference. If they have a majority of one, they have a mandate. If the Democrats have a majority of one, Republicans tell us it means we have to negotiate. Why do we seem to believe them? Because these traits seem to be universal among Republicans and Democrats, I think it must be in our genes. How else can, you explain why North Carolinians voted against their own interests?
