It was near unbelievable. I saw a crowd of supporters,
including women, surrounding Todd Akin, the guy
who believes women who get pregnant when they are raped really were not raped
because they wanted the sex involved. He is not alone in his beliefs. This idea
really goes much deeper then that in the mind of these people. It is really that women are chattel, just property. If a woman is raped and becomes
pregnant, she is guilty of a sin
equivalent to adultery. She really is guilty of infidelity. This reaches deep
into Sharia Law. I saw a woman shot
eight times by her husband for adultery-a clip shown on TV. A villager handed a
rifle to the man after he threw his wife down into the dirt and he shot her
while the rest of the village cheered. Todd
Akin is not guilty of following Sharia Law; he is guilty of following Biblical Law. I think the guilt for the way he and his followers
think should rest on the shoulders of those who taught them to think the way
they do.: their parents, their schools, their community, and their church. We as a society are guilty. His vote
totals will be a measure of how low the people of Missouri have sunk as a society.
