Once again, the tired old argument concerning redistribution
of wealth has hit the airwaves. Conservatives say Democrats want to take from the
rich and give it to the poor. No they don’t!
Yes, they want to redistribute the wealth but they want to do it with wages
and taxes. They want rich school districts to help with the education of
children in poor districts. They want rich states to help build highways through
poor states. They want unfortunate people to have a life. They want everyone to help defend this country but that does not
mean they want an aggressive pentagon that is there to make sure oil companies
make money or conservative philosophy dominates governments in textile
manufacturing countries such as Honduras.
Democrats want a fair wage. It is innate that a company executive wants to make money but it is not wrong for a worker to want to make money as well. They want to share in the wealth of this great nation just as siblings in a wealthy family want to share in family wealth. It is OK for a CEO to drive a new car while they drive a used car but it is not OK for the CEO to drive a Lamborghini while the worker has to walk. They want company wealth shared to pay the cost of following OSHA regulations even if the company bottom line shrinks but they also want a living wage—nothing more but nothing less. Yes, Democrats want redistribution of wealth. That is altruism, ethnocentrism verses geocentricism, which is base Democratic Philosophy. That is what this FIRETREEBLOGSPOT is all about.
