WAYNE LAPIERE PHILOSOPHY MUST GO

The National Rife Association news conference was shocking. It did nothing but stir up more hate for gun owners. NRA is a failed organization.

It fails the hunters, the people who enjoy stalking and killing games. Hunting is an American tradition. It requires skill. Those who are less skilled require large caliber rifles and automatic weapons. There is a legitimate argument relating the size of the gun to the surety of a kill. I have participated in and heard family members and friends debate this issue: wound and lose verses kill and find, shotgun gage 410 bore and 16-gage verses 12-gage. I have even heard arguments against bow and arrow hunting verses rifle hunting in this regard. These are argument that NRA could engage in or provide a platform for discussion. Instead they support arming guards in schools and try to say Obama will come after your gun, etc, all nonsense.

It fails because it is making absurd suggestions. Think of how crazy it is that we as a society should have armed guards at every social gathering to deter mass killings—social gathers ranging from schools to church services. This is the way LaPierre puts it, “The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun”, more nonsense.

It fails by not calling for bands on cop killer bullets and assault weapons, again more nonsense. Guns do not kill but people with guns do kill. Assault weapons and huge ammunition clips make it possible for mass killings.

It fails by supporting the Supreme Court of the United States in its miss reading of the second amendments.

It fails politically by supporting a protection racket for politicians. Like a small storeowner in a tough neighbor hood, if you do not pay for protection, the tough “punks” will trash your store; if you do not support the NRA, they will destroy your political career by supporting someone who will support them. More nonsense, but this time the NRA is perpetuating violence against our government.  If you are a NRA member it is your fault.

  1. I think that any and all new laws and or Gun Discussions should be STAMPED 2013 and all the rest of the Previous discussions paperwork should be shredded and then both parties discuss the 2013 Agenda..... and then ask the People to vote on the White House Bill..... or the NRA Act 2013.

    Get current/get straight/No confusions.

    1. I agree but your idea seems to be an impossible dream. See the bolg post about the disconnect of the Congress from the people. Over 90% of the people want background checks but it would fail in congress . . . we still call it representative government. I wonder?
